Camera, action – Dubai!
Dubai extends along the Persian Gulf and is the administrative centre of one of the seven emirates. It is so famous that one can hardly believe that it is not the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. More and more tourists are capturing its stunning videos through the viewfinders of their cameras. Though the revenue from the tourism industry is less than the revenue from oil production and jewellery trade, the city remains one of the most popular tourist destinations due to the beauty and luxury of its skyscrapers, white sand beaches and blue gulf.
It is no coincidence that Dil Vil Pyar Vyar (Hearts Can’t Do Without Love), a 2002 Bollywood romantic drama film, was shot in Dubai. Magnificent settings, posh cars and a great tornado of emotions surround the lovers who create a lot of obstacles on the way to their own happiness. In keeping with the best traditions of Bollywood, the main characters dance to the foot tapping music. Four stories tell us about passionate and happy love. It sees no obstacles, and though the end is so predictable, it is still a happy end: wedding! No matter where the main characters live – in Dubai, Delhi, Barcelona or Berlin, this amazing and exciting event bonds their hearts forever.
The filming of Mission: Impossible IV – Ghost Protocol starring Tom Cruise also took place in Dubai. The world premiere took place during the Dubai International Film Festival. The spectators saw well-known places – Tom Cruise scaling the famous skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa 163-floor building in Dubai. Tourists are also attracted by the At the Top observation deck on the 124th floor and a luxurious restaurant as well as the beautiful fountain show that can be watched through the skyscraper’s floor-to-ceiling windows. The few weeks that actors spent in Dubai will stay out in their memories as an enjoyable time. The filming was also done in Moscow, Prague and Vancouver.
